7 Reasons to participate in the 12th Pharma Bangladesh 2026
12th Pharma Bangladesh 2026 is an extensive global trade show that showcases pharmaceuticals, active ingredients, raw materials, processing and packaging machinery, equipment, and associated services for the pharmaceutical industry worldwide.
Pharma Bangladesh is the biggest of its kind International Exhibition of Bangladesh serving the Pharmaceutical Industry of Bangladesh for the past decade.
This industry now forms the backbone of the country's economy and provides an astonishing 97% of the pharmaceutical demands of the domestic market, according to the Bangladesh Investment Development Authority.
Bangladesh meets 98% of its domestic medicinal demand with a pharmaceutical market valued at US$6 billion, importing approximately US$1.3 billion worth of APIs annually and exporting to over 150 destinations. To reduce its reliance on imported APIs, the government is prioritizing local API manufacturing, and with Asia’s API market projected to grow at a 9% CAGR until 2027, Bangladesh is well-positioned to integrate into regional supply chains through cost advantages, policy support, and expanding capacity.
The pharmaceutical industry is currently exporting to more than 150 countries globally and has made considerable gains into export markets, including heavily regulated markets like the United States and Europe.
All the associated factors are in favor of the continued rapid growth of Bangladesh's pharmaceutical market, and it is expected to grow with a CAGR of around 15–16% during the 2026 - 2030 period. The share of generic drugs is projected to remain above 85% beyond 2025, which will further strengthen the dominance of local pharmaceutical companies in the market. This growth will be supported by increasing healthcare demand, government support, expansion of API production, and rising export opportunities.
